My wife and I are going to be in Austin June 5th; there is a Master Pancake (Robin Hood) that night. Tentatively she and I are planning to go see it, and so, tentatively, what do you think of joining us? I've got a race the following morning I'd prefer to go to the 7:00, but if absolutely necessary I can be talked into the 10:00.

Guess who gets to see Spamalot like six rows out for free this saturday? Oh, yes, good friends who get nice bonuses from work are very nice. I'll grant that my friend is the Arthur to my Patsy so it's fitting, but still it should be good.

Hey Austin people, know of anyone hiring? I kind of need a job in about three weeks (I'm out of savings in five), and I'm not having the greatest luck.

BA in linguistics minors in math and german
I can code, but strongly perfer not
Teaching experience (tutoring, TA) but not certified
Bilingual English/German
Eventually will be starting an MLIS program (masters of library and information science)

The coolest most horrible thing happened today. I got a speeding ticket for doing 38 in a 30...while one a bicycle. If they let me keep the ticket after I either appeal or defensive driving it (the cop said it was an option) I plan on framing it.

So you guys know, I might be jobless after tomorrow. Basically my job (tutor for UT) has being a student as a requirement, but I graduated last month. However, one of my sups said I could stick around when I asked him about it, but now my other sup sent me an email saying "you're not registered for classes, which is a problem. What's going on".

So, I have a feeling since one vouched for me it'll be okay, but there's that worry since, well, no one is hiring linguists outisde for the government, and I really love my job.

Do I run the full or half marathon this year? I'm leaning toward full, but I don't exactly know where my knees are leaning.

I was about to go buy (or at least see about affording) a Powerbook today since this computer is just about deed. But, apparently the Intel version of the Powerbook is now out.

So, do I get a powerbook wait a few weeks and get the new powerbook, wait for the G4 ones to get cheaper?

Arguments for the x86 PB is that it is the new PB and so everything new will run on it, but for the G4 PB there's currently a good amount of software for it.

A friend of mine got married last june, and I was a groomsman. I just saw pictures from it and wow. I didn't know it was that extreme of a difference.
